  Some earth and black licorice on the nose. These follow on to the medium bodied palate along with a good dose of dark red fruits, some herb, balancing acidity, and only a touch of tannins. An interesting mix of equal parts of Bordeaux (CS & CF) and Rhone (Gr & Syr) varietals, but with a definite Cali personality. Glad we held this as long as we did.

  We decanted this wine per Vailia's recommendation but when we tasted it the wine was still pretty tight and did not have a lot of fruit flavor. We left it decant overnight and the next day it was fantastic. The aroma was very fruity and the wine was smooth with very complex flavors. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
