  • Mid weight with mixed red and black fruits. Decent acidity in mid palate. Oak evident on the nose and on initial palate and blows of some after some air time. Decent drinker, but not special. There are better values at the price point.

  • No different than in January, even had it with a lamb, which is perfect as this juice is fruit forward and completely enveloping with some sweet tobacco, a little tar and vanilla. Enjoy now.

  • Decanted and drank with lamb loin chops with a red wine reduction. Beautiful pairing. This wine needs a little air but quickly subdues and rounds out the fruit with see less integration of the tannins, a little rock and pencil lead. Slight oak on the nose, but mostly vanilla from the toast. Enjoy now and next several years but I think I like how it's drinking here and wouldn't look for age to improve the wine so much as just change it. One caution: fruit is a little faux sweet now. Age might help that but the backbone isn't really there for balance to stay as forest floor comes forward. It will be a race in decking fruit versus softening tannins.

  • Decanted and drank over three and a half hours. Solid wine, not quite a fruit bomb but definitely fruit forward though that tamped a bit as the wine breathed. Definitely great value.

  • dark ruby...very expressive new world nose of stewed black fruits with undercurrents of vanilla, toasted cedar and licorice...on entry lush ripe black and red fruits give way to savory spiced cured meat and toast...tannins refined and acidity well-balanced...solid effort just not special
