I like malbec but I'm not really a fan. This wine, though, was quite decent. Not at all spectacular but pretty good and I'm a tad sorry I opened it so soon. There we still lots of tannins that could have matured. It was a deep ruby colour, almost black (no browning on the edges or when swirled). Not surprisingly, it was very rich and full. While appreciated, my friends remarked how it could almost have been an after-dinner wine. But it was not, in any way sweet. Just full and rich.

Opaque, inky garnet red with a bright ruby rim. Young, med+ intensity on the nose, with plum, a little pruny, black fruit, black cherry and a hint of tabacco. On the palate, dry with very high & dry tannins. High acidity with a full body. Flavours of plum and tea leaf, black pepper and hint of clove. Finish is long.
This is great wine. Very big and extracted and a little "big and chunky" and therefore needs time to settle down. Even thought it's a 2010 - I would give it 2-3 years to mellow out. Great wine to pair with a big juicy steak!

Trip to Buenos Aires and Mendoza; 12/22/2014-1/3/2015 (Buenos Aires and Mendoza): No formal notes taken at that time...but I do remember I thought it's simple and full bodied. Good but nothing to be remembered.
