I bought this bottle in May 2015 (DSP-KY-78, Batch QBC N°, 15-11) but waited until September 2019 before I finally opened. Easily the most complex, warm and profound bourbon I ever tasted. Basically an overall very nutty, warm, full and reserved trajectory of smell and taste. Easily drinkable at full strength although I did splash half a teaspoon of water in later in the bottle to take the edge off. Toasted dark bread, even mushroom, sesame, honey and a touch of clove or some high ethereal freshness like mint on the nose. Strong hazelnut and a profound moscovado sugar sweetness on the palate, but not in the least tacky and in perfect balance, with a nice length. I am generally getting kind of tired of whisky, but this was really good. The price will make sure you take your time with it if your income isn’t so great.
So I was going to give this a 96, but after 3 months into this a bitter note began to show up and it lost its balance somewhat. Maybe dropping the 15 year age statement wasn’t such a great idea after all. If you open a bottle, I'd recommend using up within 2 or 3 months.

love it. Add a few ice cubes or a splash of water, the flavour develops in the glass over time a real sipper. Tastes nut, vanilla & oak. My new favourite Bourbon.

Lots of cinannamon. Not overly complex

Wood isn't over the top, heat from being barrel strength. Really solid pour.
