  I do not drink a lot of Calif wines (something that should change perhaps), and so it is with some hesitancy that I describe this wine as quintessentially Californian. Very nice fruit, well-balanced. The bottle I had seemed ready to go. I am not certain if more time will lead to improvements.
  
  By the way, no decanting, and although the wine opened a bit through the bottle, I am not certain that decanting is needed.
  Might try this on the next one for the hell of it.

  I am rarely disappointed with a Caton wine. This one is no exception. Nice fruit, well balanced. Opened up nicely after a couple hours.

  Opened this on Friday for one glass. Then corked and finished on Sunday. Stayed well over the days with lots f fruit.
