First nose offers Violet at first and then more typical notes of dried strawberry, cherry, dried leaf. As time goes, notes of basil, balsamic, anise and sweet leather appear. Mouth is so Poggio di Sotto. Burgundian in style and texture, but with Tuscan sun. Notes of dried red fruit, blackberry and tomato sauce with hints of leather. Multilayered, chiseled. Despite being almost 17yo, acidity is well and alive, and tannins still have some grip. Long and juicy finish. Outstanding wine

Excellent light-bodied BdM hitting its stride and improving each minute the air does its work. Have a few more but wish I had multiple cases left. Reminds you why Poggio can be so brilliant, light, yet keep evolving and have deep complexity delivered by the gorgeous fruit and gentle tannins and acid. Really good right now.

Great stuff...Sangiovese heaven...very elegant...needs no decant, just open the bottle a couple of hours prior to drinking...it’s in a perfect spot right now.

Absolutely fabulous. Clear red. Delicate aromas. Extraordinary balance. Best of all, not heavy or ponderous.

A really young one which better stay for five to ten years later to show its potential.
