Previous bottle must gave been off... Would likely peg it as a CdP in a blind tasting. Fully mature (though I doubt there are many left out there..). Will not go anywhere but down from here so get your corkscrew and go for it...!! (call me up - I'd love another taste..got 1 more of the 2000 to polish off).

This one did not make the cut. Not quite flawed, but certainly reminded me of a fruit distillation, rather then mature wine. A bit charred or stewed. Seems way past its prime. One more bottle to go..

Garnet colored with some edge of steak-juice color. Smells refined: violets, plums and a faint hint of black cherries. Fully matured yet surprisingly vibrant. Medium intensity and finish. Could be mistaken for a very decent Burg.

Dark with slightly fading edge. Candied plums and cherries in a medium-bodied frame. Notes of mocha. Soft and drinkable. Almost CdP quality. Will not get any better, but should hold for a 3-4 years. Impressive for the price and vintage.

TN: 9 Bottles of Domaine du Caillou Chateauneuf du Papes & Intro: Groups 5th Place; Another wine that has grippy tannins with a trace of bitter tannins. Rather long on the palate while only slightly disjointed.
