  Not as enjoyable as the 2008 I had a few months ago, this 2011 was solid and really highlights the "producer over vintage" debate. Mid weight, more dark chambolle due to the soil composite than other parts of the village...a solid showing in a challenged vintage. No green whatsoever...just lacking that something that would make this stand out.

  Aux Caves Madeleine à Beaune. Il a pris une heure à s'ouvrir.
  Un nez de griottes, du poivre. Attaque puissante, assez tannique, bonne acidité. C'est assez profond avec une belle finale subtile, poivrée. Nul doute qu'il sera meilleur dans quelques années. 91 + pts
