  • 4 hour decant. Solid structure. Well balanced. Successful midpalate delivery. Toasty flavours with a rustic edge. The perfume appearing on the nose on Day 2 was very welcome. Rustic, refined, powerful, memorable, beauty and the beast Merlot.

  • This is young and drinkable but not quaffable. Restrained, austere, dark and fruity merlot with character. The flavours are simple and clean with youthful palate/texture/finish held together in a nice balance. What really stands out is this wines powerful seductive depth. Outstanding Depth Price Ratio!! The unusual combination of simple young wine with magnetic depth did wonders for my palate. All wines drank following this one were appreciated as never before. 87 points for now but 90 at peak. Better on Day 2.

  • 3 hour decant. Quite primary, raw and powerful. The nose had blackberry, blackcurrant, capsicum, violet, hint of eucalyptus. The palate shows power rather than finesse. The finish is long. Formidable stuff. Not an early drinker. In fact, it might be in its 'bottled chaos' phase at the moment. I was both disappointed and impressed with this wine. The disappointment is due to the immature-phase not the quality. This wine is packed with energy. There is potential for the wine to develop into something special.

  • Blending 93% Merlot, harvested From September 24 through October 9, with 7% Cabernet Franc, picked October 12, the wine offers licorice, dark cherry and earthy scents. On the palate, this medium-bodied wine is filled with ripe cherries. 87-89 Pts
