Wow, this is drinking beautifully now! Rich and refreshing with plenty of vibrant acidity with delicate creamy, lemony flavors framed by a light toasted oak. Very stylish for a California Chardonnay. Drink now. Tasted at the winery.

Let me just start right off by saying that I wish I had more, and I wish I could get some of the 2912. This is something of a more straight ahead Chardonnay than the Rued, still with a lot of interest. I would say classic in its bouquet and taste. I believe one taster likened it to a Meursault, and I think that's a good comparable. There's some real strength to the acidic backbone, with some "rounding out" meat on the bones. This is not, however, a big Cali Chardonnay. If you have any, I think time truly is good for this wine. Btw supposedly the 2012 is tasting with a rounder, fuller and softer profile. That could be a killer combination. Wish I had some of the 2012.

Dutton Goldfield (Tasting at the winery): Tangy and mineral, with flavors of juicy golden raisins, and a hint of oak. Recalled a classic Mersault like wine. Quite a contrast to the etherial Rued.
