13.5% alc. A blend of 50/50 Frappato and Nero D'Avola grapes, harvested and fermentated separately, but both coming from a single vineyard located in Chiaramonte Gulfi, Monti Iblei region (Ragusa).
There was a real interesting funk on the wine when I first popped and poured. Took a good hour to open up. Violet and reddish color, dull sheen. Red berry and blackberry aromas. Fresh smelling. Spices and a slight herbal tone. Nice medium weight wine with fresh cherries and berries that dominate the palate. Good acidity. A rich smooth plumpish type of style but not heavy. Very much like a weightier pinot noir style of wine. Light drying of mouth ..... very smooth and well integrated slightly sweet silky tannins. Decent length to the finish where a bit of herbal and salty tones comes through. A nice evening wine. Very much like a weightier pinot noir style of wine with maybe sweeter red fruit then a pinot.

Really a surprisingly good Cerasuolo...more complex than your typical one. Took a good hour for it to really reveal itself, but when it did, definitely took everyone by surprise!
