Baywolf 38th Anniversary (Double Duck) Dinner (Baywolf Restaurant, Oakland, California): Crystal clear, medium ruby not showing any age. Medium weight and showing more obvious wood than either of the 2 Burgundies. Just a hint of the New World cola. First a bit simple, but then displaying both herbs and an espresso richness. Much more complex and interesting than it seemed right out of the bottle.

Very interesting and very tannic. Definitely still young. Complex, fruit on top, hints of mint, eucalyptus, herbs underneath. Mild vanilla. Better with food. Very very good. More than worth $35.

Muted strawberry notes and underbrush, still quite youthful. Lighter body and angular/simple in the fruit profile. Should last on the substantial acidity.
