Medium purple with clear rim. Green herbal and pepper corn, desitin nose with slightly cherry finish. Pallet is dried cherry with green dirt finish. Long on acid but weak tannins. Past it’s time.

Consumed over 2 hours with an additional 20 minute previous decant. Served patio with grilled steak and grilled veg. Purchased case price at $99 in late 2013 and cellared since. FLAT OUT OUTSTANDING QPR! Off the charts wine. Reasonably complex with a nose of cigar box an hints of vanilla; you can taste the Merlot in the front palette and there are nice floral notes in the mid palatte and a decent finish for a wine of this price point. Glad I purchased the case as it will provide good drinking over the next 12-24 months; certainly not over the hill and a hell of a bargain if can be purchased under $15....or even a bit higher.

bound4er has it dead on though instead of more fruit, I would like slightly more vineyard character. A little tobacco or leather nuance would get this wine closer to an 89. If it was $8 I would say back up the truck and have your mid-week wine sorted for the next 2 years, especially given the worry free stelvin closure. At $12 I would say it delivers exactly what you want for a $12 wine, which is actually saying a lot since I think most wines don't deliver relative to their price point.

This is a pretty solid $11 QPR wine. While it won't turn any heads it does posses a nice red fruit profile of tart cherry and cranberry with adequate palate cleansing acidity. Could use more concentration of fruit - hence the mid-80's score.

10/13/13 Nice Bordeaux style med body red Nice dark fruits. Well balance acid/tannin. Best screw cap red I've tasted. Must breathe 1 hour min. Good now plus 2-3 years
