  • Tasted at the winery. I don't see Rieslaner around that much in Germany, a cross-breed of silvaner and riesling. Nice aromas of melon and stone fruit -- peach, apricot. This tastes fairly sweet, sweeter than their 2010 Spätlese, but without much more acid on the palate to balance. This makes the wine just a bit flat and cloying. But I do mean just a bit. Overall it's still enjoyable and at a great pricepoint for Auslese, especially since it comes in half-bottles. The fruit on the nose and front of the palate should pair nicely with some desserts.
