A most complex and interesting nose upon opening. Distinctive notes of sage and licorice which faded quickly. Tannins are fully integrated now yielding a low-fruit medium-bodied red wine that perfectly complemented our Saharan chicken dish and its spiciness.

Perhaps not as luscious as some other merlots bit it is drinking very well right now. Needs about an hour in the decanter for the fruit to be displayed. The next bottle will get opened up even earlier.
