Strong purple berry and sous bois in the nose. Comes across sweet on initial tasting, perhaps a bit of RS here. Underbrush, zinberry, cracked pepper leave a hot, peppery mouthfeel with medium length in the finish.

A few 2011 Turley Zins (Ann and Ray's): Tasted with the 2011 Ueberroth and 2011 Pesenti zins. Enjoyed this a little more than the two Paso zins. Ripe and rich Turley-style zin but a little more toned down than those two, not showing as much pruney-ness. Some nice flavors but lacking acidic and tannic structure and zin spice - seemed a little soft and flat.

Huge fruit on the nose & palate. Red & black cherries, boysenberry, plum, & raspberry, along with a bit of cola. Jammy. Well balanced sweet oak on the nose, along with some baking spices, green tea, and tobacco. Mouthfilling on the palate - juicy, plenty of acidity, big fruit richness lasting into a lengthy finish that goes a little biscuity. This is in great shape, and would be rated higher if the fruit-bomby nature was a bit more restrained. Popped & poured.

Full and inky, but not too hot or cloying.
