  Medium ruby color. A tad boring in the smell and taste. Generic fruit notes and spices. Not getting much of the vanilla that other people mention. Dry, but too alcoholic.

  I think this was a gift bottle someone brought to a dinner party. I'm liking it for a simple, mid-week quaff with dinner. It's one dimensional, but packed with rich cherry fruits, a bit of toasted vanilla, and a smooth finish. To my palate, it tastes a lot more like Pinot than a lot the stuff in this price range.
