Pushing the appassimento style of wine making made famous by the Venetian heavy weights. Not only does it work, but counters the variable growing season in the Niagara micro climate. Big leathery nose, medium color and taste that hits the back of the mouth. Mineral, leather prunes and apricot to the taste. 2011 generally was an okay year for this region but this wine shines. Well done.

Between old and new world, but closer to new. Ripe black fruit; a little "hot" (alcohol 14.9%). Pleasant on its own, but fine with a grilled steak.

Very nice complicated wine. Signature colaneri aroma. Has a peppery finish. Smokey notes.
