  • Prior bottle was only seven months ago, but this bottle showed a clear step better. Pineapple, mango and golden peach on the nose, but with much more in the way of tart qualities than my prior bottle. Medium bodied and showing both more body and more structure than my prior bottle with white and yellow peach upfront, moving to distinct tropical notes of pineapple and mango through the middle. Noticeably more dense than my prior bottle and with more expressive fruit notes. Backside also showed better acidity and the wine felt better balanced in general. Possible my prior bottle was negative bottle variation or cork issue (it certainly wasn't flawed) so I'll chalk tonight's showing up to simply a better bottle, served at a slightly cooler temperature. Regardless, at not even 10 years old, this wine is showing quite well and should drink at a high level for many years to come.

  • Goldfruit notes on the nose (especially peach) along with light honey qualities. Nearly medium bodied (8% ABV) with soft peach notes upfront, moving from yellow peach to gold. Brings in tropical qualities through the middles (pineapple and orange) as well as some soft yellow melon and light honey notes. Acidity on the backside is enough to provide structure and is assisted by some tart citrus qualities. Fruit shows quite well at present and the true strength of this wine was the overall fruit-acidity balance. The wine may not appear to have high acidity, but the fact that it keep pace with the fruit shows how much there truly is to maintain the balance. Has many years in front of it as the fruit will last a long time. I will probably open my next bottle in June/July 2021 to take advantage of where the acidity is today.

  • This is a dessert in a glass. Really ripe and delicious pineapple and linden flower notes on the palate. There is good acidity that keeps it lively and easy to drink. Almost impossible to put the glass down and despite the sweetness paired really well with the salmon and the grilled asparagus at the dinner table.

  • On the nose, medium-intensity nose of ripe lemon, with light suggestions of petrol and wax.
In the mouth, medium sweet, L+ body. L acid, L alcohol, overall it’s light, sweet, and lacking acid - just a little tartness mid-palate that disappears quickly. Low complexity, mostly fruit flavors, not much secondary flavors.
    Score: Around 7.5

    Cheeses:
Resulted in a cool balsamic vinegar aroma with the Epoisses (washed-rind?). With the creamy Red Hawk, resulted in a creamy condensed-milk candy taste, reminiscent of a Filipino candy - pastillas de leche.
