The wine has a deep ruby red color. There’s some sediment in the bottle, which requires careful pouring in the glasses. I used a decanter. On the nose it has dried strawberries, red currants and spices, but also a kind of barnyard smell where you can recognise a little horse. Although it sounds a bit weird actually it was quite pleasant. It’s medium(+) bodied, with some rough tannins still clearly present. It has a medium finish that reveals some liquorice and mineral notes as well. Quite nice.

Modestly funky and loaded with chocolate, pepper and roasted flavors which would normally scare me away, but not this time. Somehow it all works, and it's got the stuffing for further aging--it's best years are clearly still ahead.

It's hard (and maybe not too reasonable) to rate this wine now, because it's much too young. What's noticeable is, that this seems pretty light in style (for a CdR) and it has lots of garrigue flavours both in the nose and on the palate. A very interesting one - maybe it's going to be fine in a couple of years.

Chocolate and savory and roasty but in a good way. And I don't like roasty. Got some structure on the palate. Serious stuff.

Earthy and funky and spicy, black pepper, tons of complexity, loads on the palate, again funky but in a really great way. That's got allot going on.
