I liked this wine a lot. you can just feel the love. I also think this was picked on the ripe side, Don't get me wrong, I think this is an inspired wine and one hell of an effort, but just not quite authentic to the roots of the varietal, which still is very OK They captured the essence of the varietal and added a touch of Old Mission Peninsula trademark. Not nearly as sharp and crisp as its European cousins, this one is more a comfort wine. Probably totally dry, and around 13% alcohol. Ripe apple and pear with some brown spice and just a little crisp citrus. This already has a couple years of bottle age which seems to mellowed it.

Wow, much riper than the 2011 (as I would expect!), more in the smargd-family of flavors. Awesome pear + artichoke (think fruit + savory) flavor profile going on. Took to Tank Noodle and enjoyed every minute of it. Michigan has a future with this varietal–for sure.

This was just fine. I think I drank it too fast and didn't think about it. Very ripe and very gruner veltliner. Go Michigan.
