  • Luminous, transparent cherry marmalade color. Quite odd and slightly pungent nose with savory aromas of earthy Pinosity, cranberry marmalade without any sweetness, some brambly raspberry and a hint of bilberry. The wine is dry and medium-bodied on the palate with quite intense flavors of woody bitterness, ripe yet tart lingonberries, cranberry marmalade, some pepper-driven spice, a little bit of sweet raspberry marmalade candies and a hint of smoky earth. Overall the wine feels somewhat soft, although with balancing, moderate acidity. The finish is dry, somewhat bitter and quite spicy with pretty long flavors of ripe cranberries and raspberries, some peppery spice and a hint of savory wood.

A decent effort for a Chilean Pinot Noir, but I'm still not sold with these - they seem to be quite expressive, but still somewhat awkward and unbalanced. Although the wine feels more dry and robust instead of soft and jammy, as the Chilean Pinot Noirs all too often are, this still seems to lack anything that would make it interesting and worth a re-visit. An acceptable and perfectly drinkable wine, but nothing to keep me interested. Priced according to its quality at 12,95€.
