  • This is probably the nicest Viognier I have ever had. Try as I might with Vio, many lack crispness and acidity so they taste flabby. The Smith version shows nice crispness and minerality as well as aromatics and some oak

  • Good but not quite as good as the 2013 K Vintners Art Den Hoed Viognier we tried a while back. This one had some nice honeysuckle notes but was also a bit on the sweeter side. We have the 2014 Art Den Hoed and will eventually see how that compares.

  • Light yellow. Easter dinner, last 2 of 6 bottles. 45F. light nose with some honey, melon, orange, spice. Some fruit and lots of acid with hint of oak (or similar) on light, focused palate. Moderate finish. May be a bad choice, hope it stands up to the food... Opened up over an hour to more fullness and paired well with ham and various flavorful veggie dishes.

  • Wow. This is a simply delightful wine that is hard to put down on a warm summer evening. Although I typically pour a single glass of white this time of year before moving onto weightier reds, this wine warranted an extra glass. An outstanding example of Viognier, perhaps a little lighter than most, but still a great mouthfeel. The wine looks lush and viscous with a brilliant, clear light yellow color. The bouquet hints of citrus zest and green apple, but is not overly expressive. The palate has more Chardonnay citrus profile notes versus the typical stone fruit that you might expect from Viognier, but in a winning style. Wonderfully integrated flavors of almond, Meyer lemon icebox pie and honey. It is a dry white wine tinged with a pleasant and light hint of sweetness. Low acidity allows the clean fruit flavors to have a more distinct influence. An exceptionally smooth, lingering and delicious finish. So easy to drink -- if a wine could be compared to comfort food, this is it.
