  • This expression of the varietal really speaks to the sense of place. Blind, this would be unrecognizable as a Dornfelder from Germany. Inky purple in the glass, thick viscous legs, moderately aromatic nose, palate is concentrated with black/blue fruits that open to a balanced acidic/tannin structure that pleases with a medium long finish. Interesting. Expressive. Unique. Seek this out from a boutique producer with a passion for this varietal from their homeland. Delicious.
