This is a beautiful wine! The bouquet lifts from the bottle the moment the cork clears the mouth with cherry, cinnamon, lavendar, plum, cola, and a touch of orange zest. The color of an opaque plum drips from the bottle coating the glass (borrowing from a prior note on the ‘08 Nu). A touch of candy apple comes across in the bouquet as well. While this is very different from other Ampelos Pinot - it’s a bigger wine - it is nonetheless very compelling and not nearly “in your face” the way the ‘08 was. From 2A and 667 clones. Some slight sediment. 14.7% alc. Both by itself during the Ampelos Virtual Pick-up party and then with (beef) meatballs in butter roasted tomatoes over homemade fettuccini. Highly Recommended.

This wine needs decanting, we poured it through an aerator, the nose was red fruit, the palate at first was harsh but it mellowed over the evening, The last glass was crushed red fruit, strawberry and a hint of cinnamon and very enjoyable. I think a two hour decant would have this wine at a 90.
