As ever, give a little air to get rid of the papery taste that's there for the first hour or so. Really good - amazing what they did with this vintage.

Last glass from a bottle that Ann opened last night. This is pretty good, and I think I would have guessed Bordeaux if tasting this blind. There is a smokey, slightly herbaceous note. Soft tannin, moderate acidity. I like the somewhat restrained fruit profile from the 11 vintage.

Sadly, this was my last bottle, and it was tasting wonderful. This is an beautiful cab, with structure, poise, and elegance. Plenty of fruit, but equal parts acidity and fine-grained tannin. Love the complexity.

Strained for sediment (lots) and decanted approx 1 hour before serving. Really lovely stuff with a muted nose following decant, but bright red fruit to open, slate and forest on the mid and drying tannins to finish. Lots of life left but in a great place now. Very well made and straddles the old and new world line particularly well.

OUTPLAYING's note was 100% spot on. I write only to provide my score, which was just slightly under a 92.
