Not quite as complex or balanced as the 1985, and with a twist of spearmint, but still quite nice and with plenty of life remaining, at least from magnum.

This bottle was in a great place and drinking beautifully. Tart red fruits and soil, excellent acid. Smooth texture with just a touch of grip. Medium length lingering finish. Drink now, or hold for a while longer. The wine was still vibrant with acidity.

This is a refined old wine. It started out sharp and filled out while decanting. It's got a light touch with a nose of forest floor, pine needles and a clean, pleasant musk. There's a crisp, but pleasant minerality to the palate. There's fruit, but I don't know what to compare it to. The minerality and pine dominate the flavor, but it a way that's strong but without excessive extraction or heat. The finish is long with a nice backbone with lingering tannin.

this wine at 25 years has held up well ... smooth and silky as expected without too much age leather and soil. went well with chicken-based dinner
