  • Coming after a very pure Bourgueil, I was more conscious than previously of vanilla notes from oak ageing; not offensive but more than my ideal.

  • A day after the classy Poliziano Asinone I though that this would be a big let down but it turned out to be a good+ basic Chianti with good colour, well developed and fragrant nose of cherry tinged red fruit with a touch of leather and a refreshing medium+ bodied palate full of fruit, minerals and tangy acidity. As Chianti should, it paired well with meat balls and cannelloni in tomato sauce. Good+ wine with a repeat purchase beckoning.

  • At Mozza restaurant, Monaco. Appealing, floral and delicate, restrained acidity. Very pleasant, harmonious, not challenging. Surprisingly well-balanced for so young a wine; not sure it can really be a 2013 but double-checked the wine list & checked again online - that's what it says...
Update: went back & checked the bottle - was 2010; have cross-posted under the correct vintage.
