  • This has really picked up some weight in the last year, and has a richer, plumper, more plummy palate - very rich for a Chinon. It still has that green Cab Franc tang which stops it being a bit of a flabby mess. Drinkable now, no doubt, but probably entering a grumpy stage, and lacks the sheen it had this time last year. Hold for now - there is certainly good material here.

  • At the Couly-Dutheil dinner. Deep deep ruby red which carries through on the nose with pungent black berry fruits, wet leather, slight stable and wet hay, as if I am walking to see my horses, and foresty. The black berries are carrying through the wine, with black pepper and minerals, and very scratchy. Still needs time to age. Definitely need to drink the wine again in the future. Only reason why I am neutral right now is that the wine is a little young to drink at the moment in my dictionary. A well made wine nonetheless.

  • Another excellent bottle with lots of raspberry and compact red fruit - wonderful balance that has more richness than the usual Chinon but works beautifully well on this wine.

  • Beautiful depth on this - it has a richness that compliments the Cab Franc fruit with dark berries and raspberry washing over the leafy Cabernet Franc elements. Lovely stuff.
