Served with a first course salad of country ham, cheese, and pear. I thought a lighter pinot would be good for that, but I was very wrong. The salt in the ham was more of a issue than I thought it would be, and the cracked pepper and arugula that topped the salad completely overwhelmed the wine. Lesson learned.

Partially transparent in the glass. Light red with hints of brown. Light bodied. Fairly strong tannins. Dry. Slightly bitter oaky finish. Good, but maybe not worth the price.

Pinot Noir in the cooler climate Oregon style, i.e., lighter in color and smooth in texture; characteristic black cherry flavor in abundance; and a somewhat fruit forward, but dry feel in the mouth. Recommended.

I'm not real sure about this one. It is already 4 years off the vine and still a little lean and tight. It has a typical Oregon fruit profile of pretty precise cherry and raspberry that is trying to release. The tannins remain firm, and the acid is very dry, so the overall impression is not as expressive as we would hope. I would bet an overnight decant would do wonders for this Pinot.

This wine has been in the cellar too long. Light reddish orange color, light body, tasted earthy and a bit bitter.
