Aged 14 months in oak barrels, aged eight months in the bottle before release. Pleasant, moderately fruity nose. The flavour is good too, better than expected. A cross between a food wine and a New World style wine. $16. Overall value: 3.5 stars of 5. Overall impression: very good (86.5).

Pretty decent value priced Rioja. When we poured into the decanter, the nose had a distinct cigar box meets spice cupboard with raspberry and cranberry aromas. The color is a little lighter red than expected. The fruit has a softness on the entry I often associate with whole cluster fermentation, but also has a nice amount of concentration. More red fruit than dark. Interesting secondary flavor of lead pencil. You can feel and taste the influence of mild oak. The finish has some dry tannins before vanilla and lingering red fruit.

Go to mid week Rioja. More than its modest billing and price would indicate. Agree: aromatic; great fruit; modest use of oak; good balance all around and has character, freshness and a certain zip. Buy a case, drink your way through it and you'll be happy indeed.

Nice little wine. Fruity and approachable, but solid enough structure that it didn't taste cheap

An excellent Rioja for only $15, I need to drink more Trempranillo, Spanish wine is so aromatic.
