  • Just gets better with age. Has reached its perfect drinking window now. Soft tannins combined with delicious blackberry, cassis and black cherry accompanied by tertiary characters of leather, bloody meat and some herbal notes. Delicious. @finewine.explorer

  • Really sang after 2 hrs of air. Sweet on pnp, but more balanced 2 hrs in. Great value.

  • Bordeaux blend: 48% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, 7% Petit Verdot. 18 months in French oak barrels.

    Deep garnet color.

Nice aroma of black currant and cedar.

Dry, medium+ body, high acidity, smooth tannins. Not that balanced. Medium finish. Flavors of black currant, black fruits, hints of burnt rubber, cedar.

Overall: a ready to drink, decent, South African Bordeaux blend. 89/100

  • Deep black-red in colour, nose shows Bordelaise characters with cedarwood, savoury, wet earth, blackcurrant and tobacco, but perhaps riper and almost baked fruits. A deep nose continues to the palate where there is a lemon-like acidity, fairly sturdy grippy tannins, plenty of black fruits, perhaps black cherry too, complex in its 10th year, the palate is full-bodied, with a slight metallic or ferruginous quality to it. A little drying on the finish, but still a good wine.

  • Cabernet-Merlot blend. Deep ruby to garnet edges. Very Bordeaux like with cedarwood, but far riper with baked raspberries, creme de cassis and blackcurrant puree. A hint of herbs and menthol. Mid to full-bodied with good depth of flavour, bitter chocolate texture, some fresh acidity and firm, slightly grainy tannins. A little bit of bonfire smoke, charcoal with some red fruit joining as wine opened up. Pleasant sweetness later that lingers on a mid-long finish.
