Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • {screwcap, 12%} Actually labelled "Single Vineyard", but with a show over-sticker reading "UK Label Only". This is the thing with wine show entries. Anyway, this is a very attractive riesling, compromised by lack of concentration. It has lovely smoked apple flavours, with a dash of sweetness (I'm guessing 20-30g/l). I guess it's really only light-bodied, but the sheer intensity of the flavours makes it seem bigger. Thing is, though, that after a gorgeous initial impact, it all fades just too quickly on the palate, leaving a watery, hollow sort of impression. You've got to pour another glass into your mouth quick smart to maintain the flavours, which kind-of works, but isn't the ideal way to drink a wine...
