  • My last bottle. I have been uncorking my JM Pillot 2012 CMs after finding premox in a Vergers. The color of this one was promising. Mildly gold tinged yellow. Hazel nuts, lemon, petrichor, white orchard fruit and minimal reduction on the nose. Great density and stoniness in the mouth. Cannot keep my nose out of the glass. Really good CM! A survivor!! After going through flawed bottle after bottle, I was having a moment of, "Why do I do I buy these wines?!" This is why.

  • Agree with Maximum satisfaction (whose note got me to open the bottle). Clearly really good but I think I may have missed the window on this one. Almost dry orchard fruit as well as crushed rock on the nose. It has good intensity and density in the mouth with a lovely lemony stoniness that I associate with Chardonnay from this locale. I am imaging that this would be great with some scallops. But it lacks some of the focus, clarity and cut that I love in white great Burgundy. That having been said, I do really enjoy it. I might drink my 2nd of 3 in the near future and then leave the last for 2025.

  • Likely a slightly faded version of what it was a few years ago. The fruit comes through nicely but on the syrupy side with no acid or structure to provide lift. Still it’s top tier Burgundy just missed the prime window.
