47th TWIGS session (KC's place): 11% alc. Screw cap. Kerosene soon blows off to reveal orange marmalade, apple pie, lemon and apricot. The light/medium palate has lovely balance of fruit and acids giving freshness to the structure.

2014 Sydney Royal Wine Show - Exhibitor's Tasting & Trophy Wines Lunch (Homebush & Four Seasons Hotel): [silver medal] {375ml, screwcap} A light honey/candied nose precedes a honey and lemon-butter palate, medium-sweet, but with enough acidity to maintain freshness and give balance to the light/medium weight. The finish is medium-length; this is OK but would be better with a bit more action on the mid and back-palates. 36 wines in the sweet class managed just 2 gold medals; this was the best of only 5 silvers (although some way short of a gold).

This drinks like a German beerenauslese with its petrol-soaked stone fruits and flinty minerals. Admirably nervy and vibrant. Excellent QPR.
