Black fruit, black pepper and vanilla leading to a rich supple fruit (blackberry/blackcurrant) driven mouthful with some complexity ending slightly austere, making it a good companion to slightly spicey food. Good value Mid 90s for a £10 wine

Medium purple with light garnet. Open 3 hours before. Dark berry with acidic earthy fruit on the nose. Pallet is initially acidic fruit. After decanting it’s easy to swallow with a much more balanced acid and fruit and smooth tannins. Good for another year or more.

A wide variety at LWS (Gruaud, D'Issan, Rinaldi +++) (Colonial Beverage, Chesterland Ohio): This was being close out for $10, and that represents pretty good value. Wes called this a bridge between new and old world, and I think that is pretty accurate. Purple/ruby in color. The nose is a bit jammy with black raspberries. Slight peppery note. On the palate, it is jammy. Nice texture. The midpalate is a bit disjointed but then it comes together. Overall, this is easy to drink, a bit of depth and tasty. For $10, that's not bad. Has a few years left.

Full deep color. Nice secondary aromas of flowers, tea and earth, accenting the dark fruit. The palate is full bodied, showing ample black fruit, with touches of mocha, dried flowers and stone, finishing with thick juicy tannins. Nicely done.
