There's a fine line border between declining and ebullient peak expressiveness. This wine is at that point. Nose is very earthy with a slightly saline characteristic. Palate is bright, rustic, and giving exuberant port-like notes. Texture is thick and honey-like. Some flavors softening, some starting to show beautiful expressions of texture and presence. Gorgeous. Hedonistic.

I continue to struggle with U.S. Syrah. Not that it's not drinkable but that there is nothing special about it. Plenty of fruit but not much else. With the Australian version we get some black pepper at half the price. Just not a good QPR for me.

Less and less fruit and more and more funk with each bottle-in a good way. The wine is earthy, bell peppers have and very interesting. It still has fruit, bur there are more layers of earthy and finicky tones percepitable now. I wish I had more than one more bottle.

Beautiful with an earthy, funky note. Needs to be drunk up soon.

Baking spices, mild old world, 'band-aid' funk, juicy flavors. Very interesting wine.
