100% Pinot Noir. Medium nose shows light brioche, lime peel, overall citrus, some light funk or earth, very light extraction, minimal skin contact in winemaking. Palate is nicely expressive, surprising after seeing the color, definitely shows Pinot Noir body and complexity. Nice value and well made.
Blended from perpetual reserve of 8 years.

Really lovely and sort of a "quiet", gentle expression of champagne, with really cute, fun fruit and a friendly vibe rather than a super complex/dense profile or a super steely/electric one. Maybe it was a lacking a little...oomph, but it certainly delicious and balanced, and very obviously champagne, for a really solid price. Maybe closest to pear and rainier cherry on the nose with touches of white bread, cream, and something closest to black licorice. There's a surprising sense of sweetness on the palate despite it being extra brut, more of that cream-like flavor. Might be underrating it a bit, especially for the price. Just need more experience with Champagne to really place it properly.
A private dinner (Restaurant Vanderveen, Amsterdam, NL): Made with 100% Pinot Noir from Gyé-sur-Seine in the Côtes des Bar, base vintage 2019 (70%) with 30% réserve perpetuelle, full malo, élévage sur lie until June 2020, bottled unfiltered on 23 July 2020, disgorged August 2022 with a dosage of 3.5 gr/l. Tasted once before in Tokyo (!), so nice to encounter it on my doorstep. An excellent apéritif, lovely balance between richness and freshness, spicy depth and minerally energy.
