Candied cherry on the nose, somewhat similar to Gamay. Just a hint of sweetness upfront. Raspberry/strawberry cream on the palate with some white pepper on the finish.
Day 2 (re-corked overnight): Less fruit, more spice. Not detecting any sweetness and some tannins have developed. Quite a change from last night. Still enjoyable, just different.
