Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • {screwcap} Closed, vaguely vanilla-and-plum nose. But really reticent. Palate is closed too; fine, low-level tannins, medium acid, tightly-buttoned savoury fruit with a drying quality but not much dimension. Dry, medium weight, but tight; not a long finish but still always tasting closed and uninterested. Very hard to judge. Will it blossom or just never amount to much? Part of me leans to the latter, I must say; never had a Brown Brothers premium that really impressed. not really a wine for drinking now at any rate. Does at least avoid the overt minty or eucalypt character that plagues so many Victorian reds with premium pretentions.
