Part 2 Produttori del Barbaresco 2009 horizontal. Aired in bottle few hours beforehand. Tasted semi-blind. Drank in Conterno Sensory. Apearance is clear, very pale intensity, ruby colour with garnet rim. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of fine tar, dark red cherries, dark red plums. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol (14.5%), fine grippy high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of dark stony minerality, dark red cherries, dark red plums, tarry earth. Very long finish. Very good quality. Lots of serious dark substance. Fine but more in the powerful camp rather than elegance like the Pora and Paje. Day 2+: Some mint and spice also. Structure still solid.

After having a nice day at golf my wife decided to that I should take her out to dinner. So off we went to one of our local BYOB's and I brought this bottle. The nose is red fruit. The palate was cherry, plum, tobacco and a hint of spice. The finish was moderately long. A really nice bottle of wine which will last for quite a few more years.

Pulled out of the cellar without checking my previous notes and it worked to my advantage. This bottle was more advanced than my previous one and certainly ready to drink now. Same profile as previous bottle was on day three. Wild red cherries with mineral notes, elegant and balanced palate, virtually to tannins and long finish.

Decanted only for a short period. Tobacco, dried blueberries. Tannins still a bit rustic. Medium finish.
Probably will go another 10 yrs.
