  • So far, Italian dessert wines have hardly impressed me, too syrupy, too sweet, too dense, too roasted, too much of everything.

Nose of candied figs, apricots and a hint of roasted aromas.

It is the wine of choice with chocolate desserts.

Surprisingly fluid on the palate and animated by a beautiful acidity, which produces a dense but very tasty juice. The wine unfolds its aromas of figs and finely roasted aromas, it stands out not for its sweetness but for its advanced maturity. Serene and accomplished wine which unfolds its participation on a beautiful finish, always with these predominant and very pleasant aromas of figs I must say. On the other hand, the length struggles to impose itself, a small downside to the quality of the high-level ensemble.

Excellent dessert wine, sapid and fresh.

  • Les portes du temple ont tremblé ce soir! Avec un fondant au chocolat, c'est exquis à tous les niveaux. Un des meilleurs vins dessert dégusté dans ma courte carrière.

  • Tapped on several occasions with coravin. This is a superb wine for chocolate desserts. I don't have much ofl notes for this one but this is just gorgeous and it's a fantastic complement to all types of chocolate. Raisiny but with uplifting acidity and just the right amount of tannin. Not overly sweet but that's the whole point. Just rich and filling but never too sweet. Perfect balance. Only problem is that it's just too expensive.

  • From Enomatic at Hedonism; half-bottle. Brilliant, brilliant stuff. Clearly a wine made from raisins, as you can easily smell and taste the caramelization and dessication here. The nose is surprisingly not volatile; it's quite clean and shows lots of beautiful dried fruits -- a mix of dates, raisins, apricots, figs, all sorts of good stuff. While the acidity on this seems to be fairly low, this is the sort of sweet wine that is balanced on its tannins and that tannic grip prevents this from actually becoming cloying. I've never been one for big blowsy wines, but the occasional Veneto does hit the spot now and again.

  • 70g/l doftar vinsanto med karamell och torkad röd frukt. Söta kryddor, lite kaffe men vinet saknar tyvärr syra.
