On the nose there's cherry cough syrup, barnyard notes & smokey notes ~ On the palate it's medium bodied with moderate tannins & flavors of black cherry, dry wood & cranberry ~ An enjoyable everyday Pinot

Started out well. Medium body, niced fruitiness, reasonable varietal character and pleasant to drink. I did not detect any grapefruit overtones, which flavor seems to overwhelm the majority of NZ Sauvignon Blancs thease days. After a few days in the wine cooler it kind of collapsed into a bland, formless, wine-flavored liquid. This would probably be an 89 if I drank it all in one sitting, but it certainly doesn't last well.

I just can't seem to get past the grapefruit in some NZ Pinots. The nose here shows cranberry, a touch of sandalwood, and...grapefruit. To me, the grapefruit advances on the palate, giving it an unwanted "foxy" character. Light, nice mouthfeel, and good acidity. Well made, but that damn grapefruit...
