  • Screwcap, 14% alc. Inky red.

Plums, olive, deli meats, and blackberry. Ink, tobacco, and vanilla playing a supporting role.

Plush mouthfeel with gentle tannins, and prominent acid. It lacks some stuffing and has a watercolour-like presentation.

Opinion: Nice quaffing wine but it doesn’t seem to have the stuffing to age significantly nor build further complexity. It’s been years since I last tasted this wine (on release at the winery in 2014) however my recollection is that it was more impressive then than now. The wine has an obvious freshness about it, and undoubtedly looked better on Day 4. So who knows; maybe this has more to give.

  • Deep purple/crimson colour. A merlot of some depth and susbstance. Blackberry, plums, hints of red fruits, along with cedar, dark chocolate and a light hit of mocha and spice oak. Mouth coating tannin, nice length and cleansing acid. I think it's fair to say that everyone thoroughly enjoyed it.
