What a wonderful experience! This rich and true-to-terroir 2012 is truly ready to enjoy with much of its secondary complexity already showing its hand. Dark, almost black/red, stuffed with deep dark cherry at the core, with that Bonne Mares medieval castle wall guarding the sinews of cherry, soil, moist oak, and just superior elegance. By no means a Roumier, so the fact that these wines typically need 20 years works to the advantage of those who own this lighter, somewhat less complex but delightful estate’s wine.

I enjoy a little more fruit to my Burgundy. This wine has a little more Old World to it.
