2012 Liquid Farm Golden Slope Chardonnay Sta Rita Hills. Alc 14.2% Time in the bottle has been kind to this.pale clear yellow It is smooth and rich with nice acidity and minerality. It has just a touch of oak. Probably at it’s best Reminds me of Puligny or chassagne.

From magnum. An iniital bit of sulphur blows off leaving red apple and melon fruit qualities. Full-bodied and layered, with an abundance of fruit and a lengthy finish. Excellent. (TLV)

This chardonnay had significant oak and a bit of sulfur. There was significant acid and not much minerality. It melded nicely after 30-60 minutes. I can dig it, but $44 from the winery seems a bit high.

Easy Bistro Dinner (Easy Bistro): Medium lemon yellow. Subtle nose with notes of lemon, Golden Delicious apple, and pear with hints of honeysuckle. Medium body on the palate with minerality and refreshing acidity. Made from a blend of fruit from multiple SRH vineyards including 40% Rita’s Crown, 30% Bent Rock, 16% Clos Pepe, 10% Zotovich, and 4% Kessler-Haak aged 13 months in 15-20% new French oak. 14.2% ABV.
