Thin, bright up front giving way to earth and minerality. Notes of raspberry, strawberry, cocoa, vanilla, floral—maybe lavender. Medium length finish is primarily sweet.
Enjoyed more with food. Didn’t stand up perfectly with steak, would pair next time with tuna. Drank well with dessert.

I was not fond of this wine initially, There was an off flavor that I did not enjoy. But as it opened, the spice notes became more apparent. A light wine, and not a classic Willamette Pinot. Initially, it reminded me of a Beaujolais, but change as it aired. Pleasent and enjoyable for the price.

This is small production Oregon Pinot with a personality. Not exactly typical, the entry has a distinctive, spicy, herbal, earthy bite. Think this is just emerging from it's "dumb" stage and probably needs a decant. It has great color, but the nose is a little shy, even after some heavy swirling. Just reeks of tiny yield concentration. Doesn't need oak. Almost 4 years off the vine, the flavors are just starting to integrate. All kinds of secondary enhancing flavors on the finish like cocoa powder, flinty earth, vanilla and wet minerals. Behind the earthy spicy stuff, some very typical Oregon cherry and red fruit flavors are followed by some strong blueberry and plum. The finish has a metallic influence to the earthy red fruit.

Classic expression of Oregon Pinot, and true to the vintage. Strawberry and dark cherry, with hints of cinnamon, vanilla, and some umami notes. Nice acidic structure that would pair nicely with lighter proteins, but it also works well on its own as I had it. Medium-long finish with a sweetness that lingers. Very nice for an entry-level Oregon Pinot, and a good early omen for higher-end 2012's.
