Tasted over two days. Over-the-top fruit and wood on the first day. It settled in on the second, offering a fine sipping experience. It also paired well with food. This showed like a medium rich Chardonnay, and, as with many white Rhone variety wines, acid could be higher.

This had a rich, fragrant bouquet of peach, pear, anise and lemon zest aromas. The palate was crisp and sharp with flavors of peach, pear, anise, lemon zest and minerals.

Quite rich on the nose with aromas of anise, tangerine and hint of sulfur. The palate is well rounded on the front, yet balanced by crisp flavors of lemon, along with some almond and straw notes. There is some nicely integrated oak that presents a vanilla characteristic and maintains the wine's richness, which in turn is kept in check by the grip that comes through on the finish and the always present citrus fruit.

(Tranche Cellars Slice of Pape Blanc Columbia Valley) The first vintage to include Marsanne, it’s an aromatically appealing wine with peach, spicy oak notes, tropical fruit, and melon. The palate is medium-plus bodied, fleshy in feel with a lot of depth to the fruit flavors and a drawn out finish. Roussanne, Viognier, and Marsanne. Aged 10 months in neutral French oak and concrete. 598 cases produced.

I had this with a Mexican Casserole on 11/30/17. My notes were exactly the same as those written on 11/2/17.

Still in great shape and really a great example of a Washington white Rhone. Tranche does a great job with Pape' Blanc year in and year out.
