PnP before, during and after dinner. No detailed notes, but it was a solid every-day wine. A little on the tart side, but nice flavor. Not very complex.

Showing some of the (to me) less positive aspects of the 09 vintage in Oregon. Forward red fruit flavors which don't taste overripe in themselves, but there's substantial alcoholic (14.5%) body which isn't quite filled out by the fruit - the overall effect is a full but somewhat dilute wine. Not a bad wine, just forward and obvious. Not much in the way of tannins or acid, and it faded a bit on day 2, so I'd say drink up if you have any left.

While this 2009 Chehalem Pinot Noir 3 Vineyard has received great reviews from a well respected wine magazine and Cellar Tracker members, it's just not a style of PN I like. It was heavy, but without the balance of a bolder/livelier flavor that would support it. Nor did I detect much complexity. At times almost syrupy.

Nose: cherry, spice, earth. Light on the mouth, hard to believe it's 14.5% alcohol. Cherry, dirt, menthol on the palate, more of a cold weather style Pinot.
