Forward dark red and blue fruit with dark chocolate notes. Very clean and pure. The palate exuded elegance yet incredible flavour intensity at the same time. Everything is total harmony. I do not drink Malbec on regular basis. This bottle I picked up at winemakers dinner at Quince in 2013 as the most interesting one in the lineup and it has exceeded expectations. Not sure how the wine will age from here on but I saw no sign of decline at this point.

Right off, the nose is an unusual mix of rich leather notes and bright expressive blue berries with a licorice edge, and it’s exciting. Delicious in the mouth, adding currant to the blueberry, and a savory herbal note. Tannins are mostly resolved but still provide ample structure. Drinking at peak now, I’d say, and probably holding there for five years more at least.

as with my previous note it’s a good wine but terrible value. also all my older achaval ferrer corks are a complete shitshow. this is only 8 years old shouldn’t have crumbled to pieces.

PnP was overly ripe and cloying. Threw it in the decanter for two hours. Much more balanced while still on the ripe side. Medium bodied and medium finish. Has a delicious factor. Probably needs another year cellaring.

Very good but at triple dig in price it's not good value. Achaval ferrer has equally good wines for half the price.
